Through my work as a holistic healer, consultatnt and entreprenuer, I was introduced into the world of women’s groups and red tent circles, I completely fell in love with the whole red tent philosophy of empowering women and preserving natural wisdom within communities, so I decided to take the training to become a ‘star of Ishtar’ red tent women’s circle facilitator’ so I could set up a local circle for the women of Macclesfield and surrounding areas.
I am a mother of three amazing ‘unschooled’ children and a lover of Truth, Freedom and Soul Driven self expression.
Natural, holistic family life is also very important to me, as is being part of generous and supportive community which provides the opportunity for creating real connections with highly conscious individuals.
I suffer with a genetic disorder which causes chronic pain and numerous associated mental and physical disability issues, so in my own search for connection and support I realised there was a distinct lack of this kind of group where women can come together in person and help lift each other up.
I am thrilled to be able to provide the wonderful opportunity for women to meet up once a month within a beautiful sacred space.
I’m an intuitive healer, herbalist, author, naturopath, advanced soul realignment™ practitioner and holistic health and development consultant. I love my work and my family and seeing this community continuing to grow and develop into an amazing group of empowered women developing themselves and doing Soul driven purposeful work in the world, it just fills my heart with joy..
I love to work with highly conscious individuals who want to create holistic wellness and development within their lives, driven by Soul purpose, and those who are actively investing in their spiritual and personal development. Red tent meetings seemed like a wonderful way to give taster sessions into the work I do as well as build a strong community of women who wish to find support and connection on thier own journey.
Outside of Red Tent, in my business The Complete Being I specialise in Soul Realignment™,Herbalism, Akashic Record Readings, Reiki, Homeopathy, Stress Management, Flower Remedies, and Nutritional Therapy. I am also an Independent Usui Shiki Ryoho, Kundalini and Tibetan Reiki Master.
I’m registered as an associate member of The Professional Therapists Training Academy(P.T.T.A) and The School of Natural Health Sciences (S.N.H.S) which is accredited by the International College of Holistic Medicine (I.C.H.M). I am also a full member of The International Institute for Complimentary Therapists (I.I.C.T)

Over the last few years our Red Tent community has been growing beautifully, and it gives me great pleasure to introduce Emma Manchester and Holly Griffiths, our amazing volunteer co-hosts.
I asked Emma to introduce herself in her own words –
Hello everyone!I’m Emma and this is my first post to introduce myself as Red Tent Cheshire’s Co-facilitator.
I am a wife and mother to three amazing little ones (10,4 and 2). I’m a flexi educator of my eldest for the last few years and we absolutely love it. My career background up to press has always been in working with communities and sustainability. I worked fairly early on for some prominent and extremely innovative public sector organisations that really gave me the sense that anything is possible with a bit of thought, and that amazing results can come from seemingly off the wall ideas. I learned that just because it’s never been done before, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth a try and that often when something has always been done a certain way, it might be time for a fresh perspective.
I was lucky enough to train as a Volunteer Community Mediator and Facilitator while I was in Bradford where I grew up. I’ve worked with lots of different community groups, sometimes coming from areas of extreme deprivation. I also spent a bit of time working with communities in Northern Ireland which is an experience I cherish.
I’ve always been fascinated by people and love to hear their stories. I desperately wanted to complete a degree in Psychology but at 18 I was still caring for my chronically ill father so it didn’t happen. Last year, in between having two of my children, I finally finished a degree in Psychology and Child Development, coming out with a First which is no small thing when you are a severely sleep deprived busy mum! My area of expertise is emotional development and I have a special interest in fairytales and how they affect us.
I met my wonderful husband after 5 years of being a single mother so I understand just how difficult that kind of life can be and I firmly believe that single parents are unsung heroes. My husband is the love of my life and we have a beautiful, hectic, fulfilling-with-a-dash-of-crazy life together.
I’m also Pagan but tend to be fairly low key about it. I dedicated myself to the Goddess in my early twenties after “discovering” Paganism officially at 16. I’ve always been highly intuitive, deeply connected to nature and able to see things that sometimes other people can’t. I try to live according to my intuition and my own inner guidance and so far it hasn’t led me astray. I also recently took up painting which is completely transformative even though I’m not a natural artist.
I’d heard of Red Tent through some of my reading over the years and taken part in other kinds of women’s circles before. When I initially explored Red Tent the nearest to me was about an hour away. Then a couple of years later I met Wendy through some mutual friends and she explained she wanted to start a Red Tent in Macclesfield. I was there from the very first one and I think in two years I’ve only missed a couple. It is a place I go to invest in myself as a woman, to meet and connect with other wonderful women and to escape the craziness of the outside world. Red Tent is a place where things make sense for me. I feel that need to be around other women in a safe and beautiful environment. We support each other, laugh, cry together, share our stories, make things and hold space for each other. It can be relaxing and stimulating all at the same time!
So when Wendy asked me a few months ago if I’d like to come on board as her Co-facilitator it was a total no brainer for me. It’s a privilege to be able to work with Wendy to help move Red Tent forward and expand it into new areas. We are full of ideas and excited for the future!
I am awed by the resilience, strength, compassion and resourcefulness that I see in the women that come to our Red Tent. All of them inspire me. I am struck by how often one of us will be going through something in our lives that might be incredibly difficult and there is always someone else going through it at the same time or who just went through it. The right women always seem to be there at the right time and, together, we help each other through.I believe that women are wisdom keepers. We are creatives. I believe that together we can do anything. The women I meet are amazing, sometimes we might forget that occasionally, but that’s when we can be there to remind each other and for me, that’s a big part of what Red Tent is about.
We are open to all women and women come as and when they need to be in a safe space with an accepting bunch of like-minded souls. We are often laughing so you’ll likely hear us from downstairs and you can be sure of a very warm welcome.
Hope to see you soon,
